Kumawood movie makers mad over parliament's film village in Kyebi

Movie makers in Kumasi is petitioning parliament to change decision to erect a film village in Kyebi in the Eastern Region.

According to them, Kumasi is the hub for Ghanaian movies and so it is best for this film village idea by the government.

Some movie makers like Ola Michaels on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty questioned the decision because, he said “Kumasi has kept the movies industry vibrant and made history in Ghana movie. So why would such a decision go away from the Ashanti Region”?

He also stated that there are many committed people willing to provide a wide acre of land for this film village decision.

He mentioned the likes of Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II promised the movie fraternity some acres of land.

Also, the chief of Hemang has also allocated 200 acres of land for this project.

And even revealed that the husband of Actress Mercy Asiedu has even donated 250 acres of land which is already in use for the movie industry.
